We are proud to share that on Thursday, January 23, 2025, the “Youth for Justice” program took place successfully in the Youth Department of the city of Kiryat Gat. The response was impressive, and the feedback was full of enthusiasm and great appreciation. The program, which successfully sparks widespread interest among teenagers, provides them with a unique opportunity to learn about the judicial system and the values of a democratic society, leading to a significant shift in their worldview and a stronger sense of self-efficacy.

The “Youth for Justice” program, initiated by the Tebeka Association, is a unique and highly impactful program that has been operating for many years across the country, aiming to bring about significant change among Ethiopian-Israeli youth. The program targets high school students in grades 9–12 and includes a diverse group of youth, including those at risk.

The program seeks to provide teenagers with in-depth knowledge of legal and social issues, while strengthening their understanding of life in a democratic society. Through a series of structured and experiential meetings, participants are introduced to the world of law and justice, learn core values such as equality and justice, and develop practical tools to deal with complex situations, such as value conflicts and competing rights.

Program Goals

  • Legal Knowledge and Legal Norms: Providing in-depth knowledge of the Israeli legal system and the accepted norms within the law.
  • Values and Life Skills: Developing democratic values and tools for managing conflicts and making value-based decisions.
  • Personal Empowerment: Strengthening the self-confidence of the youth, developing leadership skills, and enhancing their sense of personal capability.
  • Social Contribution: Encouraging optimal integration into Israeli society, while fostering awareness and social commitment.

The “Youth for Justice” program not only provides knowledge but also changes participants’ worldview and strengthens their sense of self-efficacy, empowering them to integrate and lead in Israeli society. Teenagers who complete the program leave with practical life tools, greater self-confidence, and a strong commitment to continue contributing to society.
